Hi, I’m a holistic health coach and I can help you heal your relationship with health.

About me

Flavia Deuchler Health Coach

Quitting my corporate job to dedicate my life to helping others re-empower themselves is my new purpose in life!

I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and the School for Applied Functional Medicine.

With my knowledge, we co-create completely personalized actions based on your goals to move you toward your ideal vision of health within your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and resources.

Each session will leave you feeling inspired and motivated. We will talk about things beyond food, seeking to balance essential elements of your life such as love and relationships and career and money. I will personally and carefully guide you to make simple, small changes that transform your life.

As a Health Coach, I put the power back in your hands.

Born in Switzerland and raised in Italy. I started venturing on a journey of self-discovery when I learned about the power of holistic remedies at the age of 15. Changing my perspective on allopathic medicine and switching to alternative and functional medicine have played a significant role in my life.

After my bachelor's, my curiosity and passion for travelling drew me to many countries, discovering new cultures and gaining experience from local masters and practitioners.

Having to conform to today's society, I later moved to Paris, where I pursued a successful career in business, living the life that most dream of.

Except, under the appearances, stress and an unhealthy lifestyle took a significant toll on my overall well-being. I felt disoriented and constantly anxious, detached from my true self. It took a considerate amount of courage, almost four years of self-therapy and a spark of synchronicity to lead me to where I am today.

Education

I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition* where I learned innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, functional medicine interconnectedness and over 100 dietary theories – Ayurveda, gluten-free, Paleo, raw, vegan, macrobiotics, and everything in between.

I studied with the world's top health and wellness experts including:

  • Joshua Rosenthal, MScEd, founder and director of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition

  • Walter Willett, MD, DrPH, chair of nutrition at Harvard University

  • Andrew Weil, MD, director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine

  • Gabrielle Bernstein, bestselling author and life coach

  • Susan Blum, MD, MPH, assistant clinical professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine

  • Mark Hyman, MD, founder of The UltraWellness Center

  • Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating

  • David Wolfe, raw food leader and nutrition expert

  • Marion Nestle, PhD, MPH, professor at New York University’s Department of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health

  • Mark Bittman, food writer for The New York Times and bestselling author

  • Joel Fuhrman, MD, family physician and leading expert on nutritional healing

I have successfully completed my studies at the School of Applied Functional Medicine*, Clinical EFT Center* and the Animas Center for Coaching*.

My education has equipped me with extensive, cutting-edge knowledge in holistic nutrition, functional medicine, prevention, health and transformative coaching and EFT techniques.

Drawing on my expertise, I work with my clients to help make lifestyle changes and choose health-promoting ways that produce real and lasting results.

You will develop a deeper understanding of food and lifestyle choices that work best for you, improving your energy, balance, health, and happiness.

My approach

I embrace a holistic approach to health and wellness that revolves around understanding the intricate interplay of all aspects of your life. Throughout our journey together, we will meticulously dissect the ways in which every facet of your life contributes to your overall well-being.

Guiding my clients, I prioritize tuning into your body's ever-changing needs. Life is dynamic, and I recognize that circumstances shift. My aim is to empower you with a heightened self-awareness, enabling you to make optimal choices no matter the situation.

I firmly believe in your innate ability to make well-informed decisions as the foremost authority on your own well-being. Rather than being swayed by fleeting trends or the latest magazine headlines, you possess the wisdom to chart your course to health.

Together, let's unearth your core well-being aspirations. These aspirations will become the driving force behind setting precise goals that propel you towards your desired state.

I am not here to impose a strict diet regimen upon you; instead, we will embark on a journey to explore the nuanced effects of various foods on your body, deciphering why some resonate more profoundly than others and strategically harnessing this knowledge.

Our collaboration will give rise to health objectives that are both achievable and time-bound, so you always know exactly what you’re working toward.

Available services

A delicious selection of health coaching services

It’s rare for anyone to get an hour to explore their wellness goals with a trained professional. As an Integrative Nutrition and Applied Functional Medicine Health Coach, I create a supportive environment that enables you to articulate and achieve your goals.

Throughout my education, I have been exposed to the most cutting-edge dietary theories and studied highly effective coaching techniques to help you find the right lifestyle that works best for you.

Most approaches to healthy eating dwell on calories, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Instead of creating lists of restrictions and good and bad foods, I coach my clients to explore basic improvements and implement gradual changes during our work together.

As these pieces accumulate, my clients find these changes collectively creating a much larger impact than they originally anticipated. We work on what they want to improve within the circumstances of their unique situation.

Incorporating Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and transformative coaching into health coaching can be exceptionally useful, as it enhances the depth and effectiveness of the coaching process.

By weaving these approaches together, health coaching transcends its traditional boundaries and becomes a more holistic and impactful endeavor. In essence, incorporating these techniques enriches the coaching experience by addressing the multidimensional nature of well-being. It empowers you to navigate your health journey with greater self-awareness, emotional balance, and sustainable change.

FAQ

  • Health coaching is a collaborative process where a trained professional partners with you to help you achieve your health and wellness goals. It involves personalized guidance, motivation, and support to make sustainable changes in your lifestyle, nutrition, exercise, and overall well-being.

  • While doctors diagnose and treat medical conditions, health coaches focus on empowering you to make positive lifestyle changes. Health coaching emphasizes prevention, behavior modification, and overall wellness, working alongside medical professionals but with a focus on holistic well-being.

  • In a health coaching session, you can expect open conversations about your health goals, challenges, and aspirations. The coach will listen, offer guidance, help you set realistic goals, and provide actionable steps to help you achieve them.

  • Health coaching is not about quick fixes or one-size-fits-all approaches. It takes into account your individual preferences, challenges, and goals, tailoring strategies that work for your unique circumstances. It's about sustainable, long-term changes rather than short-term solutions.

  • Yes, health coaching can be beneficial for various health conditions. While health coaches don't provide medical treatment, they can assist in managing conditions like weight management, stress, diabetes, and more by helping you adopt healthier habits that complement your medical care.

  • This is where health coaching shines. Coaches provide ongoing support, accountability, and motivation to help you stay on track. They help you identify obstacles, develop strategies to overcome them, and celebrate your achievements along the way.

  • No, health coaching is for anyone who wants to improve their overall well-being. Whether you're aiming for weight loss, stress reduction, better nutrition, or simply adopting a healthier lifestyle, a health coach can guide and support you.

  • The duration of health coaching varies depending on your goals, needs, and progress. Some clients see benefits in a few months, while others choose to continue for longer to maintain their progress and work on new goals.

  • It's important to find a health coach whose approach aligns with your goals and values. Look for coaches with relevant certifications, experience, and positive testimonials. An initial consultation can help you determine if their coaching style is a good fit for you.

  • Functional medicine is a patient-centered medical approach that shifts the focus from merely treating symptoms to understanding and addressing the underlying factors contributing to health issues. This methodology views the body as an interconnected system, taking into account an individual's genetics, environment, and lifestyle to create personalized treatment plans.

At its core, functional medicine seeks to identify and address the root causes of health problems. Rather than suppressing symptoms, practitioners aim to uncover imbalances such as inflammation, hormonal disruptions, nutrient deficiencies, and more. By addressing these imbalances, the goal is to initiate healing and promote overall wellness.

Functional medicine is rooted in scientific research, integrating findings from genetics, biochemistry, nutrition, and other fields. This evidence-based approach informs the diagnosis and treatment strategies used to create tailored plans for patients.

A holistic perspective guides functional medicine, emphasizing the importance of lifestyle factors in health. Diet, exercise, stress management, sleep, and social connections are all considered vital components of well-being. Functional medicine practitioners work closely with patients to identify areas for improvement and collaboratively design strategies for positive change.

  • Transformative coaching represents a unique approach that goes beyond traditional coaching. It aims to create profound and lasting personal growth by guiding individuals through deep shifts in their beliefs, perspectives, and behaviors. The process involves exploring one's inner world, understanding values, emotions, and thought patterns. This self-discovery helps uncover limiting beliefs that might be hindering progress.

Unlike conventional coaching, transformative coaching seeks to catalyze a significant shift in awareness. It encourages clients to gain fresh insights, challenge old assumptions, and see situations from different angles. This change in perception often leads to powerful realizations and new ways of thinking.

Empowerment is a central tenet of transformative coaching. Rather than offering solutions, coaches empower clients to find their own answers and make decisions that resonate with their authentic selves. This process fosters a sense of ownership over personal growth.

Transformative coaching isn't solely focused on introspection; it encourages tangible actions. Clients are guided to step out of their comfort zones and put insights into practice. Coaches provide accountability to ensure progress and goal attainment.

The changes initiated through transformative coaching are designed to be sustainable. Clients learn to integrate their insights and new behaviors into their daily lives, creating lasting transformation.

A holistic perspective underlies transformative coaching. It acknowledges that personal growth involves aligning emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual aspects. This comprehensive approach ensures a balanced and well-rounded transformation.

While these elements characterize transformative coaching in a general sense, specific methodologies might vary based on the organization or program teaching it, such as the Animas Center for Coaching. For precise insights into their approach, I recommend consulting their official resources.

  • EFT, which stands for "Emotional Freedom Techniques," presents a potent self-help approach grounded in research that illuminates the profound interplay between emotional trauma and both physical and emotional well-being.

With the weight of over 100 clinical trials supporting its efficacy, EFT has demonstrated its effectiveness across a spectrum of conditions including anxiety, depression, PTSD, pain, phobias, and various physical diagnoses. A central attribute of EFT is its ability to swiftly mitigate the emotional toll of memories and incidents that trigger distress.

EFT seamlessly weaves elements from Cognitive Therapy and Exposure Therapy, interwoven with the practice of Acupressure. The latter takes the form of gentle fingertip tapping on 13 specific acupuncture points, earning EFT its colloquial name "tapping." Notably, the efficacy of EFT is substantiated by a wealth of over 100 peer-reviewed papers published in medical and psychology journals.
